Job summary

A leading educational institution in Singapore is seeking a full-time Residential Life Advisor to enrich the student experience. Job description

The Office of Student Life is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to take on the full-time, live-in role of a Residential Life Advisor (RLA). The RLA plays a key part in shaping a vibrant, supportive and enriching Residential College environment for students at SUTD. This position combines student development, community building, operations, and pastoral care, and is well-suited for individuals who enjoy engaging with students and contributing to a lively campus experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership Development: Conduct leadership, character development, and similar training programs for the Residential College and hostel residents.
  • Student Conduct & Investigations: Carry out investigations into hostel-related offences and support the disciplinary process of the department, where required.
  • Pastoral Care & Case Management: Manage student incidents and provide appropriate pastoral support in a timely and empathetic manner.
  • Community Support: Facilitate/lead Residential College activities and department/University-wide programs.
  • Administrative Duties: Track and report data on programs and disciplinary cases to University Management and on student disciplinary cases and programs, manage student enquiries/feedback, and assist with general administrative/logistical tasks relating to hostel/Residential College events and operations.
Requirements
  • Willing and able to live full-time on campus in staff accommodation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in conducting training, facilitating discussions, coaching or mentoring students.
  • Experience or exposure in investigations, incident management or disciplinary processes will be an advantage.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Genuine interest, approachability and tact in working with tertiary students and diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, meticulous, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
