Job description

The doctor will be part of the General Surgery department. He/She will be expected to be involved in direct patient care such as outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, performing on-call duties as well as participating in both elective and emergency operating sessions under supervision.

He/She will be expected to participate in guiding junior doctors as well as assist in carrying out procedures and/or operations as permitted by the senior doctors.

The doctor should possess:

  • Basic medical degree registrable with SMC and preferably with post-graduate training/qualification in medicine or equivalent recognized postgraduate certification with SMC.
  • At least 3 years of post-housemanship working experience as a medical officer (or equivalent) in the relevant field/specialty or possess a postgraduate medical qualification in the relevant field/specialty.
