As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skills that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

This position is established to provide dedicated, high-level technical and research expertise in integrating NLP, speech, and software components into a secure, end-to-end signal translation system for our industry partner, ensuring project continuity, system reliability, and successful delivery of key milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of core system components, including AI-based encoding/decoding modules, model integration pipelines, and software architecture.
  • Drive research and development of algorithms for natural language understanding, structured command generation, and domain-specific model adaptation or fine-tuning.
  • Integrate NLP and speech technologies (ASR/TTS) into a unified tactical signal translation framework to ensure scalability, robustness, and continuity across project phases.
  • Conduct system testing, performance benchmarking, and quality assurance to maintain reliability and operational standards.
  • Supervise student researchers and coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (e.g., collaborators) to ensure smooth execution and milestone completion.
