About The Job

The Singapore University of Social Sciences would like to hire a research executive to manage and coordinate a series of symposia, workshops, and an international conference to be held in Singapore in 2026. In this role, the research executive will have the opportunity to interact and work with a diverse group of academics and other relevant stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing

Responsibilities

  • Develop overall Conferences/Expert Meetings/Workshops event mix and strategies.
  • Manage budget and resources for Conferences/Expert Meetings/Workshops in accordance with departmental work plans.
  • Propose creative methods to deliver content and enhance user experience.
  • Propose use of new technologies to enhance content delivery and user experience.
  • Provide on-the-job training to event staff.
  • Recommend improvements for content delivery and user experience.
  • Review content delivery and user experience strategies.
  • Review selection of event speakers to ensure they suit event requirements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on the requirements of marketing collaterals design.
  • Act as the liaison between funding agency and the organising committee/scientific review panel to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Submission Management: Collate, organiser, and maintain all conference submissions, ensuring their accessibility to the review panel. This will include but not limited to distributing submissions to reviewers, monitor the review process, and collating feedback for review purposes.
  • Communication: Sending out acceptance and rejection emails to authors in a timely and professional manner, providing necessary guidance and instructions on submissions for further actions where required.
  • Assisting organising committee with to identify, invite, and communicate with moderators/discussants for sessions at the conference/symposia/workshops.
  • Participant Engagement: Address queries from participants, pre- and post-event.
  • Administrative Support: Handling all administrative tasks associated with the event(s), including but not limited to record-keeping, documentation, poster designing, and any other tasks required to ensure the conference's success.
  • Post-event tasks: assisting with any post-conference tasks (e.g., reporting, publication) as directed by the organising committee/funding agency.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma and above in MICE and Events Management with a keen interest in the social sciences.
  • Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role as advertised.
  • Strong understanding of the research topic and related issues.
  • Familiarity with the socioeconomic situation of ASEAN and Asia.
  • Familiarity and proficiency in research skills, budgeting, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • This role is intended for candidates who are able to commit to a minimum tenure of one year, to support continuity and operational needs.
