Job summary

A leading petrochemical manufacturer in Singapore is seeking a junior professional to join their R&D team. The role involves supporting product design activities in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment. Candidates should have a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer, or Materials Science. Experience in a laboratory setting is an advantage. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities for product design projects.
  • Conduct processing and testing of samples according to the planned schedule.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for materials.
  • Support chemists in commissioning new equipment and improving testing procedures.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.

Remuneration Package

Up to Basic $4,000 (Experienced Candidate) + Fixed Allowances $280

Jurong Island (Company transport provided at designated pick-up points)

Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm

About The Role

You will be part of the Research & Development team, working in state‑of‑the‑art laboratory facilities. In this role, you will support chemists in conducting product design studies, performing sample processing and analysis, and ensuring the smooth daily operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities for product design projects, including arranging tests and summarising results.
  • Conduct processing and testing of samples according to the planned schedule.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and assist in equipment troubleshooting when required.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for materials used in product design activities.
  • Support chemists in commissioning new equipment, developing test methods, and improving existing testing procedures.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards, actively supporting Health, Safety & Environment programmes.
Key Requirements
  • Degree in Chemical/Polymer/Material Engineering or Chemistry.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a material testing or laboratory environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of polymer science, polymer processing, and testing methods is added advantage.
  • Able to perform basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • A proactive team player with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
