Qualifications

  • Degree in one of: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Business, Economics, or Finance.
  • Finance or Startup internship experience preferred.
  • Ability to study for and complete exams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Asia lead on all day-to-day activities.
  • Support the team in outside trading functions.
  • Daily execution of client trades.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements under the FCA and other regulators.

Job description

Marex has unique access across markets with significant share globally both on and off exchange. The Relative Value department will have access to major liquidity provider venues. We will also access directly on to major futures exchanges including the CME, ICE and EUREX.

This role covers the execution function within the Relative Value Trading department

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Rates Sales desk within Marex’s fast paced and growing Capital Markets group. As part of this newly formed team, you will be a key member of the business helping drive growth and profitability for the Multi product Sales and Execution Desk. The opportunity is unique as it gives the candidate the opportunity to learn directly on a desk without any previous rates experience. They will start as a support role to our head of Asia and develop into a Relative Value Execution broker gaining mass experience in the rates industry and exposure to the biggest global rates traders. A role designed to train the candidate intensely into becoming the key member of the desk.

Overall Responsibilities
  • To complete necessary exams within a reasonable time frame
  • To begin with, assisting our Asia lead on all day-to-day activities
  • Being a support to the team in outside of trading functions
  • Use of internal and external systems to build client strategies
  • Liaising with internal back office and middle office teams to check downstream everything settles correctly
  • Generation of historical data for clients where needed
  • Working efficiently and supporting with making efficiencies e.g. assisting in the preparation of any new required frameworks.
  • Collaboration with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology.
  • Strategizing to increase P&L, requiring analysis of markets and products.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required
  • To elevate risk events immediately
  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Eventually (after training and exams)

  • Daily execution of client trades
  • Trading US Treasuries as matched principal
  • Trading CME, Eurex and ICE futures as agency
  • Ensuring clients risk gets sent correctly
  • Onboarding and setting up new client accounts
  • Engaging with clients on Bloomberg
  • Developing the RV model and build continuously to ensure we keep up with competition
  • Generation of PnL
  • Dealing in fixed income and futures derivatives in particular interest rate product.
  • Directly corresponding with clients. Clients include Banks, Hedge Funds and Real Money Accounts.
  • Responsible for assisting with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintaining of existing client relationships, assisting with support processes as required by colleagues, and engaging and updating clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA, AMF
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with the FCA’s/regulators Code of Conduct
  • Liaising with clients in [US, UK, France, MENA]
