The Regional Adjuster is responsible for delivering professional claims management service to clients. The role requires the jobholder to provide loss adjusting expertise, business revenue contribution and teamwork support.
The job holder will be expected to contribute to the business maintenance and growth as well as the supportive team culture in the Department. The focus is on the business, efficiency, profitability, and reputation of the department. This will involve ensuring that nothing short of a professional service is provided to all McLarens clients.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Graduate with over 10 years’ proven experience in handling large/complex property, engineering, power & energy losses, ideally experience in handling BI, CBI and DSU claims.
- Have proven experience of working overseas, preferably in Asia and preferably involving the Singapore reinsurance market.
- Be appropriately qualified (CILA and CII).
Job Description - Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle, to a high standard, your own workload of cases derived from the business attracted into McLarens, whether by your own marketing efforts or those of others.
- Undertake overseas assignments when necessary, including joining any catastrophe response team as directed by the Regional Director - Asia.
- Ensure that 'Work in Progress' is billed out at prudent intervals (as permitted by Insurers), and that 'Account Receivables' are pursued in a prudent timescale and manner. Approval is required from the Regional Director - Asia before any significant escalation of the pursuit of 'Account Receivables' is undertaken.
- Ensure any subordinate Adjusters you oversee or attend to claims-files in accordance with McLarens standard requirements.
- Undertake regular reviews of subordinate Adjusters files and adjusters around the region where necessary, provide assistance and guidance.
- Deal with as appropriate any complaint received from a client and depending upon the seriousness of the complaint and issues involved, inform the Regional Director - Asia, especially if the issues create a potential for exposure to a professional indemnity claim.
Business Development
- Assist the company expand and acquire new claim instructions or nominated accounts, and broaden McLarens reputation with clients/customers.
- The acquisition of new claims should be handled by you or passed to either to another Regional Adjuster or to a local office (ensuring some visibility of the reporting).
- Socialising/Networking with prospective Insurers and Brokers outside regular hours to enhance McLarens brand and services.
