Skills and competencies
  • Accounting background with strong focus in financial analysis (e.g., through coursework, CFA or equivalent, or relevant work experience).
  • Solid verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys engaging in team work with a positive and constructive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Southeast Asian local languages a bonus.
Education
  • Undergraduate degree required at a minimum, with 1-2 years relevant working experience.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
  • Conducts day-to-day credit analysis, including reviewing financial statements, analyzing data, preparing forecasts, and drafting analytical commentary aligned with Moody’s methodologies.
  • Assists with proprietary models, financial projections, trend identification, and reviews transaction documents to understand cash flow and loss allocation rules.
  • Prepares first drafts of rating committee memos, collaborates with lead analysts, and actively participates in rating committee meetings by providing analysis and opinions.
  • Develops strong knowledge of Moody’s methodologies, interprets key credit factors, engages with issuers for clarification, and may complete credit estimates for risk assessment.
Research & Investor Outreach
  • Contributes to drafting core research materials (credit opinions, sector comments, press releases) and supports research strategy through idea generation and adherence to Moody’s standards.
  • Participates in investor briefings and issuer meetings, prepares presentations, and builds strong issuer relationships by understanding their business and responding proactively.
Credit Administration
  • Operates internal rating systems, constructs and maintains analytical databases, and ensures data accuracy by identifying and resolving issues with Lead Analysts.
  • Applies Moody’s processes, documentation standards, and best practices with sound judgment, ensuring adherence to all laws and policies.
Coaching & Guidance
  • Provides clear, concise and constructive guidance in the delegation of work to support teams.
  • Actively manages workload pipeline in order to provide sufficient time for completion. Seeks Ratings Associate Team Manager (RATM) guidance where needed to determine how to allocate work.
Risk Identification and Escalation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to certify relevant key codes as required. Complete mandatory required training in a timely manner.
  • Awareness of Moody’s risk management approach.
  • Increase awareness of cyber risks and avoidance of vulnerabilities e.g., e-mail use (phishing, malware).
