Job description
Overview

Eversendai is looking for a QAQC Engineer (Steel Structures) for our current on going and future projects. The role will report to the QAQC Manager and will:

  • Prepare/Review Procedures, Material submittals & other submittals related to structural steel works.
  • Prepare/Review and approve method statements and ITPs related to steel structures and associated works.
  • Preparation of shop drawings & Fabrication drawings for inspection.
  • Verification of the various reports submitted by the Steel subcontractors.
  • Ensure the site installations follow the approved drawings and connection details.
  • Coordination between Welding Specialist Engineers and Third-party inspectors/ inspection Agency.
  • Lead and manage a team of Welding Inspectors to ensure strict QA/QC compliance onsite and offsite activities of various subcontractors.
  • Prepare/Review the reports provided form the various factories and Fabrication locations.
  • Ensure that all works done are in accordance with the approved drawings, project specification and Local & International standards & codes.
  • Verify the reports for various stages of inspections for raw material, fit up, dimensional check, and weld visual, galvanizing and painting DFT etc.
  • Conduct material receiving inspections on site.
  • Inspection of bolt installations prior to steel column erection.
  • Inspections for grouting works.
  • Coordination with the Client and Site team for the various inspections and testing’s.
  • Daily Reports to the QAQC Manager
  • Welding activity verification for PQR, WPS, and WQT etc.
  • Random Witness & review of NDT reports such as RT, PT, MT & UT as per applicable codes and standards and project specification
  • Conduct the quality audit along with the Quality Manager as per IMS, and required local & International standards.
  • Conduct audits on all subcontractors for factory activities and installations on site.
  • Reviewing and testing of welding procedure specification (WPS), PQR, WQT for the project.
  • All type of inspections is witnessed in all stages of erection as per ITP, Approved drawing, codes & standards
  • Raise and Closeout Nonconformance’s and observation reports
  • Contract quality standards specifications and requirements, Quality Plan, Procedures and other related documents.
  • In coming Raw Material Inspection and Maintenance of Records for all the Materials for Shop Fabrication of Process Packages, Structures, Platforms and Accessories.
  • Review and implement the Client Specifications related to NDT & QA/QC Operations.
  • Perform Welder Qualification Test and responsible for PQR Preparation and approval.
  • Prepare NDT request as per project requirement and carryout Inspection, Witness and Assessment of Non Destructive Tests (VT, PT, UT, RT, MPI)
  • Prepare Quality Dossiers and submit to client.
Requirements

You will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years overall experience in steel structures building projects in Construction which include High Rise towers, Composite Steel Structure Buildings, Stadiums, Long Span Roof Structures etc.
  • Past project experience showed how evaluated, organised and prioritised workload within a schedule
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Experience in Microsoft applications
  • Must have CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
  • Preferably to have Structural Steel Supervisor certificate issued by SSSS.
