Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a candidate for vendor management. Responsibilities include formulating a vendor management system, negotiating pricing, and sourcing products efficiently. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in supply chain management and good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices, along with at least 2 years of experience in the marine industry.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices, especially for RHVAC components.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in Marine/Offshore industry preferred.
• Ability to meet quotation submission deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Formulate a vendor management system including an approved vendor list.
• Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers.
• Broaden the supplier network in local and global markets.

Job description

To formulate a good vendor management system which comprise of:

1. Approved vendor list of Suppliers and Vendors
2. Negotiating good pricing and rebates with suppliers and vendors
3. Negotiating good payment terms from suppliers and vendors

• Broaden the supplier’s network in local and global market.
• To source for products and services in a timely and effective manner.
• Expedite orders and monitoring of delivery to meet our commitment to the clients.
• Ensure genuine quality and reliability of every purchase that you have committed.
• Bargain and obtain the lowest prices to enable good cost savings for the company.
• Always maintain the highest time efficiency and complete every purchase on timely basis.
• Maintain good rapport with suppliers and vendors to ensure that they provide us the best in time delivery and serviceability.
• Any other duties assigned by the HOD or Management as and when necessary

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management or related discipline.
• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors) especially for components of RHVAC (Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning).
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in Marine / Offshore industry will be an advantage.
• Able to multi-task to meet quotation submission deadlines.
• Team player with positive attitude at work.
• Independent, resourceful and meticulous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
