Job summary

A leading offshore engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior Piping Design Engineer with over 10 years of experience in offshore platform and marine piping engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing Basis of Design, preparing technical specifications, and collaborating with construction teams on design issues. A strong understanding of offshore piping codes and software proficiency in CAESAR II and AutoCAD is essential. This position requires leadership in managing engineering projects and teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in piping design and engineering work in Offshore platform/marine/F(P)SO Piping Engineering.
• 3-5 years in a senior or lead role, managing engineering teams or projects.
• Familiarity with offshore/F(P)SO piping materials and design concepts.

Job description

Job Requirements

To develop Basis of Design and ensuring compliance with project design philosophies, standards, procedures, and specifications. To prepare technical Specifications/material datasheets for valves, fittings; prepare for and participate in HAZID/HAZOP, review of Engineering Subcontractors engineering deliverables, manage/control technical queries, interface information, RFQ (Request for Quotation) package preparation, Technical and Commercial evaluations of Vendor’s quotations, etc.

Comprehensive knowledge of relevant marine and offshore piping codes, standard like (ASME B31.1, B31.3), MSS, NACE, etc., Statutory Regulations, Class Codes/Guidelines/ and industry best design practices.

Review of shipyards and Vendors detailed drawings/technical packages and resolving Client/Class review comments. Collaborate with other team members specifically construction team members in resolving piping design issues, interfacing with Client as needed. Knowledge of welded joints configurations. Other works as assigned by Project Engineering Manager/General Manager, Engineering based on person’s forte and project requirements.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 10 Years in piping design and engineering work in Offshore platform/marine/ F(P)SO Piping Engineering. Familiarity with offshore/F(P)SO piping materials, stress, layout and support engineering and design concepts. Basic understanding of subsea hoses, flexible risers interface with F(P)SO piping, process requirements and operations. Working experience in shipyard for floating installations is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience should be in a senior or lead role, managing engineering teams or projects.

Software experience in CAESAR II/AFT/PIPENET/SOLIDWORKS/AutoCAD/VB-Script/Microsoft Office, etc., is required.
