Job description

As a Project Manager, you will be instrumental in driving project success, managing the day-to-day operations of export and import activities across sea, air, and road freight forwarding.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily export and import operations for key clients in Singapore and worldwide
• Effectively oversee project execution, ensuring proactive strategies and successful outcomes within transport budget
• Conduct negotiations with carriers, haulers, agents and other offices to ensure competitive pricing
• Manage relationships with suppliers, sub-contractors, and third-party cargo handlers
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and third-party cargo handlers
• Participate in RFQs, RFIs and tenders, preparing competitive rate proposals and comprehensive technical and commercial submissions.
• Supervise loading and discharging operations at ports, customer sites and jobsites
• Track shipment status daily and consistently update relevant stakeholders
• Preparation of costs and invoicing per shipment for month / year end closing
• Mentor and support new team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
• Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with customers and vendors to drive business success
• Maintain full adherence to all QHSES / compliance regulations and company policies

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in Freight Forwarding (min. 5 years in Project Logistics), showcasing a strong knowledge of the industry
• Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, CargoWise experience is a plus
• Technical knowledge about Heavy lifts, over dimensional cargo, Vessel types, Method Statements
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, even in high-pressure environments
• Strong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skills, with fluency in English
• Seeking a proactive professional with a hands-on mentality
• Highly customer-focused and detail-oriented, possessing excellent analytical and organizational abilities
• Open to national and international travel for business (10–25%)
