A leading engineering solutions provider in Singapore is seeking a Project HSE Manager to oversee HSE practices across multiple project sites. The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of HSE management experience, working knowledge of industry regulations, and strong team leadership skills. This role is integral to maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence within the energy sector. Candidates must exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective communication abilities. Travel to different project locations may be required.

In Asia - Singapore, Hanwha Offshore Solutions Singapore positions our expertise as the Center of Excellence for Project Management & Execution Center of Energy Plant Business that opens up the global energy ecosystem Hanwha Ocean develops and produces advanced facilities and platforms optimized for Energy Plant Business environments based on the best production system and facilities.
The Project HSE Manager position serves as the subject matter expert on HSE, security, and emergency response issues for the assigned project. The position will be site based and provides the support necessary to maintain an injury and incident-free work environment, ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements. The Project HSE Manager will work to develop employee competency regarding HSE issues and be a leader for HSE within the project team.
The HSE Project Manager will manage projects consisting of multiple sites, leading teams of HSE Leads, HSE officers, and influencers. While managing the project the HSE Manager will work closely with the existing Hanwha Site HSE teams to fulfill project requirements, client requirements and ensure all HSE initiatives are upheld. A key focus of this position will be on the HSSE cultural influence, coordination with site HSE Teams and training of project personnel. The HSE Project Manager will lead on site, while coordinating with Project HSE Site Leads and teams on project associated sites. This position reports to the Project Director and to the Head of Health Safety and the Environment.
Lead HSE efforts across all project phases by forming and managing HSE teams at sites and in offices responsible for project coordination.
Development, implementation, and improvement of project HSE procedures, policies and programs in line with corporate standards and contract requirements.
Lead the project cultural HSE program to align with corporate procedure and project expectation.
Identify and implement solutions to eliminate occupational safety risks at each worksite.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, HSE Manual and associated processes.
Participate in the development and implementation of safety requirements in project related activities.
Develop and present monthly safety presentations to project, client and corporate management.
Maintain project HSE records, reporting them to project and client management teams.
Lead or assist in incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and timely implementation and sharing of corrective actions across sites.
Coordinate emergency response & security drills, training, and incident response activities in line with project requirements and in coordination with yard teams.
Development, implement and manage employee notification systems, processes and procedures in the event of emergencies.
Travel to project sites in (Europe, Asia, South America) to support project HSE activities as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, HSE, or related technical field desired. Associate’s degree will be considered with additional work experience.
Minimum of 15 years’ HSE Management experience in the energy industry.
Working knowledge of IOGP, OSHA & HSE regulations highly desired.
Experience in building and managing HSE teams onsite and remotely.
Experience in maintaining and continuously improving HSE management systems.
Must be self-motivated and directed.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports and project procedures.
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
Ability to travel when required to perform the essential job functions.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Operational EHS related system experience is added advantage.
