A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a Project Engineer (Marine Safety) to manage technical conversations and project paperwork with shipyards and owners. The successful candidate will oversee project schedules, ensure compliance with safety standards, and deliver accurate documentation. Strong coordination and communication skills are essential. This role involves monitoring project budgets and evaluating technical issues on-site. It's a critical position for ensuring project success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all technical conversations with shipyards and owners.
  • Ensures project management from transfer to completion.
  • Handles project paperwork and timelines for approval.
  • Submits reports to the project manager during the project.
  • Monitors and evaluates projects in the ERP system.
  • Ensures delivery dates and project invoices are timely.
  • Conducts discussions with clients on technical issues.
  • Relieves shipyard technical claims and records improvements.
  • Manages submission status of drawings and papers.
  • Makes necessary modifications to equipment as required.
  • Obtains acceptance and testing from the yard and clients.
  • Provides feedback for product improvements to management.
  • Prepares accurate documentation for manuals and databases.
  • Follows project budgets and company safety standards.

About the job Project Engineer (Marine Safety)
  • Manages all technical conversations with shipyards, owners, and other pertinent parties; conveys requirements to other stakeholders.
  • Guarantees that projects allocated are effectively managed and that profits are sustained from project transfer to project completion.
  • In charge of project paperwork, making sure projects are completed on schedule and approved by the owner, class, and yard (client). directs and guarantees that Customer Service Coordinators give each customer's project the appropriate degree of service.
  • Submitting reports to the project manager, who is in charge of the projects given to him or her from sales until project completion.
  • Keep an eye on, evaluate, and take remedial action to guarantee that initiatives are appropriately handled in the organization's ERP system (IFS):
  • The delivery dates for projects and products, as well as documents, are accurate in IFS.
  • Project invoices arrive on schedule.
  • Discussions held at the sites of customers to discuss technical concerns.
  • Respond to shipyard technical claim issues and record them in the improvement system.
  • Monitoring the submission status of papers and drawings.
  • In charge of and permitted to make any necessary modifications to the equipment.
  • Obtain delivery acceptance and system testing from the yard, owner, and class (customer).
  • Give relevant managers and Product Management input on necessary improvements to the product.
  • Accurate information and documentation preparation for the manual and database, as well as equipment setup or programming before delivery.
  • In charge of making sure project budgets are followed.
  • Adhering to the company's established standards for health, safety, and the environment at all times.
