Job summary

A marine service company in Singapore is looking for a Ship Repair Asst Engineer/Engineer to oversee daily operations of vessel dockings and repairs. The ideal candidate will manage service execution, liaise with customers, and prepare essential documentation. Strong marine engineering background and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently. Experience in marine repairs and coordination of afloat services is preferred. The role may require commitment to overtime.

Qualifications

  • Experience in coordinating marine service work, especially afloat repairs is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage service job execution and coordinate with various teams.
  • Liaise with customers including Ship Managers and Owners.
  • Prepare quotations, Purchase Orders, and final invoicing to clients.
  • Coordinate transport of contractors and tools as necessary.
  • Plan daily work for shipyard team including manpower.
  • Provide remote technical support and answer customer queries.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Ship Repair Asst Engineer/Engineer to manage day-to-day operations and coordination of harbourcraft/medium size vessels dockings and repairs Singapore, including anchorage repairs as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage service job execution and coordinate with Shipyard Production Team, Purchasing, Technical, Classification Societies, Ship Designers, etc.
  • Liaise with customers, such as Ship Managers, Ship Owners, Agents and others.
  • Prepare quotations for tariff and non-tariff jobs, Purchase Orders (to suppliers), tools & equipment lists and procurement of Spares/Materials, etc. and final invoicing to client.
  • Coordinate transport if necessary of contractors/suppliers, tools & equipment to and from job sites including anchorage.
  • Daily work planning for shipyard team (small workforce, 10 pax) including manpower planning, reporting, etc.
  • Answer customer queries and provide remote technical support.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Marine Engineering or similar.
  • Past experience in marine/shipyard/ship repairs will be preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating marine service work, especially afloat repairs will be an advantage.
