Job summary

A stone fabrication company in Singapore is seeking an individual to operate cutting and polishing machines, ensuring quality standards while working as part of a team. Responsibilities include cutting slabs, polishing edges, and color matching resin glues. Ideal candidates will be physically fit, capable of handling tools, and willing to learn. Experience with CNC and knowledge of stone surfaces will be beneficial. This position requires good collaboration skills and adherence to production timelines.

Job description

• Cut big slabs to size by operating bridge-cutting machines.
• Operate profiling/polishing machines.
• Cut and polish sink holes to templates.
• Grind and polish edges with portable power tools.
• Color match various types of resin glues to match stones.
• Seal natural stones such as Granite after fabrication.
• Self-inspect work upon completion.
• Cleaning of equipment and workstation after work.
• Work closely with co-workers, leaders and Production Supervisor to fulfil all job requirements, production and quality standards.

Job Requirements

• Physically fit and able to carry heavy weight items.
• Able to do basic mathematical calculations.
• Able to work in and adjust to varying production timelines.
• Able to work as a team player and willing to learn.
• Possess craftsman ability to use portable power tools and hand tools to cut, grind, shape, and polish various types of stone products.
• Experience with proper and safe use of tools utilized in fabrication preferred.
• Can read and work from drawings and diagrams created manually or from a CAD program.
• Prior experience with CNC machines will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge and prior experience of stone surfaces will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of the use of different products and solvents such as various types of adhesive glues, acetone, and denatured alcohol used for fabrication will be an advantage.
