Job summary

A leading education center in Singapore is seeking enthusiastic Primary and Secondary Teachers to deliver engaging Chinese Language lessons. Candidates should have a teaching degree and experience in Ministry of Education Schools, along with fluency in English and Mandarin. The role involves conducting lessons through interactive activities and keeping parents updated on student progress. A passion for teaching and working with children is essential. Weekend work is required, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Chinese Studies, or related degrees.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently.
  • At least 3 years experience teaching in the primary or secondary levels in Ministry of Education Schools is required.
  • Good understanding of Singapore's Ministry of Education's Chinese language curriculum is needed.

Responsibilities

Job description

EduGrove is looking for passionate and dedicated Primary and Secondary Teachers to join our teaching team. We are especially looking for teachers who possess a fun and bubbly disposition and want to teach in a fun and engaging way! If you have experience in teaching the Chinese Language in Ministry of Education Schools, love children, and can speak and write fluently in English, then we want you!

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct Chinese Language enrichment lessons according to the teaching plan provided with enthusiasm.
  • Teach using specially designed fun-filled interactive activities, drama, and games to students from Primary and/or secondary school students.
  • Plan, review and evaluate lessons.
  • Update and correspond with parents after each class.
  • Give regular feedback to parents on students’ learning progress.
  • Be sensitive, caring and attentive to students’ needs and well-being.
  • Provide clear and confident explanation of programmes and activities to prospective customers.
  • Update and tailor‑make existing curriculum to better suit each class.
  • Assist the Vice‑Principals in developing new course curriculum.
Job Requirements
  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Chinese Studies, Chinese Language or other related degrees from NUS, NTU, NIE or other reputable university.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently. (To conduct lessons in the Chinese language and to give written and verbal feedback to English speaking parents on students’ learning progress.)
  • Candidates must have at least 3 years experience teaching in the primary or secondary levels in Ministry of Education Schools.
  • Must have a good understanding of Singapore's Ministry of Education's Chinese language curriculum.
  • Must be passionate in learning and teaching.
  • Must love working with children.
  • Must possess a fun-loving, energetic and bubbly disposition.
  • Candidates with experience or training in drama have an added advantage.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications, eg. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must be able to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays. (5‑day work week)
  • Entry level with little experience are welcome to apply too.
