Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Singapore seeks a Pricing Analyst to support the development of competitive pricing proposals for global tenders and monitor pricing performance. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in pricing roles, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Tableau. Job description

Job Purpose:

  • Support development of competitive & consistent pricing proposal for global & regional tenders, related to the customers in the largest sales channel
  • Monitor performance of Global & regional customers pricing
  • Contribute to the improvement of customers pricing processes to upper level & support respective implementation
  • Provide advice & expertise to the pricing community & Global organisation

Job scope:

Development of competitive and consistent pricing for global and regional tenders

  • Clarify service requirements, and obtain relevant inputs, e.g., shipping profile, customer strategy, target prices, RFQ response guidelines, etc.
  • Support conversations regarding the pricing strategy for each tender involved, providing solid justification of the approach to follow with the sales owner
  • Analyze profitability and rate levels for existing and potential business and pricing; benchmarking against competition and pricing for other customers
  • Ensure “deep dive” cost analysis to determine customer-specific costs to serve, e.g., special pickup, customer implants, dedicated linehaul, B2C service, value-added services, etc
  • Prepare consolidated prices in rate card formats and customer/RFQ templates
  • Ensure consistency of pricing across countries, products, countries, weight breaks; and enforcement of pricing policies
  • Ensure documentation of final price proposals and communication to relevant stakeholders according to standards

Performance of global and regional customer pricing

  • Perform analyses of bids won/lost, propose recommendations
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews of rate implementation, “ship to profile”, profitability
  • Perform “deep dive” profitability analyses
  • Identify issues and recommend improvements
  • Support the implementation of GPIs and introduction of new surcharges for global customers
  • Preparation of relevant reports/scorecards

Improvements to the customer pricing processes

  • Development of tools, procedures and databases to systemize the tasks of rate setting, profitability analysis, benchmarking, and price simulation
  • Development and delivery of training on the customer pricing process, tools, and techniques
  • Propose improvements to increase efficiency and quality of customer pricing processes, and support respective implementations
  • Lead complex costing analysis of global customers and ensure databases are maintained with the costing factors that are to be used in customer-specific pricing

Provide advice and expertise to the pricing community and global organization

  • Act as a global/regional contact for customer pricing
  • Support country pricing managers on large country bids; and especially for >$1M and multi-country and multi-region
  • Provide input to the regional Tender Review Boards as required
  • Participate in adhoc projects and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Preferably a Degree in Business/ Finance/ Marketing/ Commerce/ Accounting or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in a product and/ or service pricing role, or in a marketing or business analysis position will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of pricing and costing methodologies and tools is preferred
  • Strong analytical capability including expertise in spreadsheet (MS Excel) and database (MS Access) program, Power BI and Tableau
  • Simulation and forecasting competence is preferred
  • Good business and marketing orientation
