Job summary

A maritime agency in Singapore is seeking Operations Executives responsible for port formalities and crew changes. Ideal candidates should have a good understanding of the maritime industry and strong communication skills. This role requires working independently as well as in a team, with flexibility for odd hours. Basic salary plus allowances are offered.

Responsibilities

  • In-charge of all port formalities for all type of port calls.
  • Ensure applications for crew changes are submitted timely.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, surveyors, technicians, and repairers.

Job description

We can consider hiring Operations Executives:

Responsibilities / Job Description
  • In-charge of all port formalities (arrange pilotage, tugs, port clearance, etc.) for all type of port calls and vessel types
  • In-charge of all immigration formalities for sign on and sign off crew
  • Ensure applications for crew changes are submitted timely and correctly
  • Arrange hotel accommodation and transportation of crew
  • Follow up on latest regulations of MPA, ICA and NEA
  • Coordinate with suppliers, surveyors, technicians, repairers, etc.
  • Ensure instructions to all parties are communicated timely and effectively
  • Manage clearance and delivery of ship spares
  • Update and process information and documentation timely
  • Update shipowners on the operational activities of their vessels
  • Attend on board vessels whenever necessary
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required by the management
Basic Requirements
  • Understanding of the maritime industry
  • Good knowledge of Port and Immigration regulations
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as team member in a fast paced environment round the clock (able to work at odd hours/days)
  • Strong administrative, planning, implementation and communication skills
  • Problem solving skills and positive attitude
  • Detail oriented with good command of communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities
  • Business level spoken and written English
  • Own car is a Plus
