Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
  • Provide visionary leadership to nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and development of nursing personnel, ensuring the highest standards of clinical competence and professionalism.
  • Establish clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for nursing staff, and provide regular feedback and coaching to support their growth and success.
Clinical Oversight
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other department heads to develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and standards of care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in nursing practice, patient safety, and quality improvement.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, clinical indicators, and patient satisfaction metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
Resource Management
  • Develop staffing models, nursing schedules, and workflow processes to optimize patient care delivery while maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure adequate availability of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals to support nursing operations.
  • Monitor and manage nursing budgets, identifying opportunities for cost containment and resource optimization.
Quality Improvement
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, clinical outcomes, and the patient experience.
  • Conduct regular audits, reviews, and performance evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
  • Engage nursing staff in quality improvement projects, promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.
Education and Training
  • Develop and implement comprehensive orientation, training, and continuing education programs for nursing staff to ensure competency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication to enhance care coordination and clinical outcomes.
Hospital set-up
  • Play a key role in the setup and operationalization of nursing services for the new hospital, including staffing plans, workflow design, and policy development.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and facility planners to ensure the integration of nursing units and infrastructure with clinical best practices and patient-centered care models.
  • Establish systems and processes for inventory management, equipment procurement, and infection control to support safe and efficient nursing operations from the outset.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a recognized training institution as approved by the Singapore Nursing Board and a post-basic qualification in the relevant nursing specialty.
  • Singapore Registered Nurse with at least 10 years of post-registration clinical experience, of which 2 years must be in a supervisorial position.
  • Previous experience in nursing management or administration, preferably in a startup or expansion setting
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies
  • Must have operating theatre experience
