We are seeking an experienced payments technical sme to lead the design, delivery, and support of payment and card-based technology solutions. The role involves managing technical teams, driving end-to-end delivery of payment systems, and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with banking and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Expertise & Solution Design
- Serve as the technical authority on payment systems, platforms, and integrations.
- Payments domain expertise: Domestic and International Payments, Payment routing, Cheques, Clearing & Settlement Systems (RTGS, Cross border, ACH, Faster Payments and G3 / MEPS /HK CHATS / CHAPS), SWIFT, Standing Instructions, Direct Debits, Credit transfer, Bulk Payments, Payment formats (SWIFT, ISO20022 XML, NACHA etc).
- Technical skills: Oracle SQL, Unix, Websphere.
- Experience in managing technical aspect software products.
- Provide guidance on architecture, design, and implementation of payment solutions.
- Evaluate emerging payment technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
- Document technical processes, standards, and best practices.
- Working knowledge of the cash management domain.
- Lead and manage technical teams delivering payments and card platform solutions.
- Excellent Techno Functional skill in the Payments area
2. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Implement and monitor security frameworks relevant to payments.
- Troubleshoot complex payment issues and provide root cause analysis.
3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Support vendor selection, integration, and management of third-party payment providers.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
4. Knowledge Sharing & Leadership
- Train and mentor teams on payment systems and industry trends.
- Drive continuous improvement in payment processes and technical practices.
- Represent the organization as a subject matter expert in internal and external forums.
Requirements
- More than 15 years of experience in payments technology, financial services, or fintech.
- Proven expertise in payment processing systems (e.g., card networks, ACH, SWIFT, real-time payments).
- Expertise in configuring the payment product.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks relevant to payments.
- Deep technical knowledge of payment platforms and transaction flows.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery including scope, timeline, quality, and budget
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Hands-on experience with payment gateways, fraud detection, and settlement systems.
- Hands on experience with payment products like Finastra-GPP.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
- Experience with Agile / SDLC delivery models
- Strong unders1anding of payment processing, card lifecycle, and transaction flows
- Working knowledge of Agile methodology.
Preferred
- Certifications such as Certified Payments Professional (CPP) or PMP.
- Experience with cloud-based payment solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of blockchain, digital wallets, and emerging payment technologies.
- Prior experience in global payments and cross-border transaction systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 20022 standards and instant payment schemes.
