Overview

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing daily operations and coordinating a team of technicians in the maintenance and repair of IFE components and systems. This role ensures that all repair activities meet industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements, while also driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

This position is well-suited for a highly skilled electronics professional with strong leadership qualities, a commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced repair center environment. The Lead will also play a crucial role in guiding, supporting, and developing the repair team to ensure smooth daily operations and foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership:
    • Guide and mentor a team of repair technicians ensuring high performance and productivity.
    • Allocate tasks and manage daily workloads, ensuring that repair schedules and deadlines are met.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
    • Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  1. Technical Oversight:
    • Perform advanced repair and troubleshoot complex technical issues on IFE components including PCB/Electronic Modules and provide guidance to technician and resolve them.
    • Perform maintenance of diagnostic tool and test equipment such as Tester SW loading to guarantee precision and reliability
  1. Quality Assurance and Safety:
    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all repairs meet relevant regulations (EASA, FAA, CAAS), industry standards such as IPC and internal policies on safety, quality and documentation.
    • Conduct final inspections on completed repairs to confirm compliance and proper functionality
  1. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and minimize costs
    • Collaborate with Repair Supervisors to implement best practices and streamline operations.
  1. Documentation, Reporting & Customer Communication
    • Assists in ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation from technician
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on team performance, productivity, and any issues encountered.
    • Communicate with Repair Rep regarding repair status, estimated completion times, and any issues or delays.
    • Address customer concerns and ensure their requirements are met to their satisfaction.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  1. Advanced Technical Expertise
    • In-depth knowledge of electronic circuit repair, testing methodologies, and diagnostic equipment.
    • Familiarity with IFE system components, functionality, and industry standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, etc.
  1. Leadership and Team Management
  • Actively involved in training new technicians and developing team skills
  • Strong organizational skills for assigning tasks, managing workloads, and ensuring accountability.
  1. Regulatory Compliance
  • Comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA) and experience integrating compliance into daily operations.
  • Competence in maintaining detailed documentation and following standardized procedures.
  1. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
  • Capacity to quickly diagnose technical issues, evaluate possible solutions, and determine effective repair strategies.
  • Skilled in making data-driven decisions to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  1. Communication Skills
  • Proficient in giving clear instructions, providing constructive feedback, and delivering concise status updates to management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
