The Role
The Operations Support Engineer is the guardian of our AI systems' reliability. Your mission is to ensure that once an AI solution is deployed, it stays healthy, scalable, and efficient. This also include the execution of AI solution deployment (inclusive of supporting activities). You will manage the "live" environment, responding to incidents, monitoring cloud infrastructure, and ensuring we meet our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
This 1-year trainee role is ideal for those who enjoy systems thinking, cloud technology, and high-stakes problem-solving. You will learn to manage the unique challenges of maintaining AI models in the real world.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Monitoring & Maintenance
- Continuously monitor AI system uptime and performance using tools like AWS CloudWatch and DataDog.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), ensuring servers scale correctly based on user load.
- Perform routine health checks and updates to ensure system stability.
2. Incident & Change Management
- Act as the first responder to system alerts and diagnose AI-related failures.
- Execute incident management plans to recover systems to a stable state.
- Coordinate the setup and troubleshooting of hardware (e.g., camera systems) and software configurations.
3. Deployment & Optimization
- Assist in deploying AI model updates, software patches, and configuration changes.
- Monitor for "model drift" to ensure AI accuracy remains consistent over time.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation of troubleshooting procedures and system logs.
- Collaborate with Tech/RnD in conceptualising, communicating and executing on system setup
Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
- Residency: Must be a Singapore Citizen.
- Commitment: Able to commit to completing the full 1-year training programme (for fresh graduates), and 6 month training programme (for mid-career professionals).
- Hiring Standards: Able to meet the specific hiring requirements of Tictag.
Academic & Technical Foundation:
- Education: Diploma or ITE graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Interest: Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows environments and an interest in Cloud Services (AWS/GCP).
- Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure during technical incidents.
Training & Development
Trainees will follow a world-class curriculum to become experts in AI Operations:
- Certified External Training:
- AI Singapore (AI4I): Literacy in AI and the AI Project Lifecycle.
- ITIL 4 Foundation: Professional certification in IT Service Management, covering Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Tictag In-House Workshops:
- Specialized training in AI System Architectures, AI Testing, and Cloud Monitoring.
- Regional Project Exposure:
- Indonesia: Remote incident resolution for AI fruit-counting deployments.
- Singapore (MICE): Live coordination of AI camera systems and model execution for major events.
- Singapore (Retail): Managing cloud scaling and configurations for visitor tracking systems.
