Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions using Oracle’s cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in architecting and delivering OCI solutions, with a strong balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on implementation capabilities. This role requires working closely with clients to design, build, and deploy OCI‑based solutions that meet business and technical requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency. Additionally, candidates with experience in pre‑sales activities will be preferred, as they will contribute to identifying opportunities and supporting proposal development.

Your Opportunity

As a member of our Technology, Applications & Systems Integration team, the OCI Architect will play a crucial role by:

Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
  • Lead OCI solution design to meet best practices, business goals, and compliance.
  • Create detailed OCI architecture blueprints for compute, storage, networking, security, and applications.
  • Advise on cloud adoption, multi‑cloud, hybrid integration, and migration strategies.
Technical Implementation & Delivery
  • Deploy and optimize OCI services (Compute, Autonomous Database, Networking, IAM, Security).
  • Use tools like Terraform and Ansible for automation; implement OCI‑native features.
  • Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Gather requirements, present solutions, and conduct architecture reviews with stakeholders.
  • Work with development, operations, and security teams to integrate OCI solutions.
  • Mentor project teams and junior engineers.
Governance, Security, and Compliance
  • Ensure solutions meet security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement governance frameworks and cost optimization.
  • Monitor OCI resource use and compliance.
Pre‑Sales Support
  • Provide technical expertise in pre‑sales, proposals, and client meetings.
  • Identify business opportunities and recommend OCI solutions.
  • Develop strategic cloud adoption roadmaps with sales teams.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
  • Create comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams and guidelines.
  • Conduct training sessions and share knowledge internally and with clients.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Technical Skills
  • Strong expertise in OCI core services, including Compute, Networking, Storage, Database, Security, and Observability & Management.
  • Experience with OCI‑native services such as Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), and Oracle Functions.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, identity management, and role‑based access control (RBAC) within OCI.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on‑premises Oracle workloads.
Certifications
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional certification (OCI 2023 or later) is highly desirable.
  • Additional cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) are a plus.
Experience
  • Proven track record in delivering end‑to‑end OCI solutions, from planning and design to implementation and operational handover.
  • Experience in cloud migration projects involving Oracle applications such as E‑Business Suite, Oracle Database, and middleware.
  • Strong background in performance tuning, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies within OCI.
  • Experience in pre‑sales activities is a plus.
Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in enterprise environments with large‑scale OCI deployments.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines for OCI‑based applications.
  • Knowledge of Oracle licensing models and cost optimization strategies in the cloud (experience in FinOps and cost‑out initiatives preferred).
