Job description
Job Brief

We are looking to employ NUS students on a casual basis to engage with our foreign students in a physical exchange format and potentially in an online exchange format as well.

This would be for 1 to 3 hours at a time. The ratio would be 1 Singapore student to 4/5 Japanese students who would most likely be junior high school and high school age.

Typical sessions would include a Q & A session where students could ask you about life in Singapore/university life etc., some online games and casual interaction. In each session, foreign students will be given a presentation on a topic of their choice which should create natural conversation afterwards.

Responsibilities

NUS students will also give a short presentation on a topic which will be determined at a later date. Most likely Singapore culture, what you are studying at university, hopes and dreams for the future, works toward SDGs in Singapore etc.

Skills Required
  • An extrovert personality who is able to engage with others confidently
  • Comfortable speaking with non-native English speakers and understands that they must simplify their language in order to converse effectively
  • Happy with random, ad-hoc work as and when we get clients signing up
  • Must be available on the date of the Physical programme exchange session
