Overview
Modern Trade Business Development Manager
Responsibilities
- Prepare the Modern Trade sales strategy & growth plans
- a. Key responsibility is to drive profitability and revenue
- b. Strategic planning of product mix and ordering
- c. Close monitoring of inventory with logistics and operations for receiving and good stock clearance/rotation
- d. Constant monitoring of P&L for each product SKU
- e. Negotiate and drive opening of new stores
- f. Category management and Promotion planning.
- g. Driving operational efficiency for modern trade channel with operations
- h. Monitoring performance and taking corrective actions
- i. Resolve customer's trade issues, complaints and operational matters.
- j. Manage and review outlets through frequent market visit
Marketing planning
- a. Align and execute trade marketing and trade promotions interventions with the modern trade sales strategy and overall business strategy.
- b. Plan for in-store activations, merchandising, sell-out plans with modern trade buyers.
- c. Work within allocated promotional cost and ensure effective spending in driving sales and brand building.
Contract negotiation
- a. Negotiate favourable annual trading and logistic contract with customers and suppliers
- b. Work with legal to finalise contract where necessary.
Reporting
- a. Manage Accounts receivables, work with Accounts team for debt collection
- b. Dotted line reporting from 2 accounts AR team members.
- c. Management reporting: Consolidation, reporting and presentation of business performance to ensure that budget/forecast are achieved
- d. Analysis and tracking of projects using software tools to ensure on track in schedule, provide lens for sales to drive performing categories and correct non-performance.
