Job summary

Job Description
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all production Metering Systems of Oil, Natural Gas and water on board, under the direction of the I&C Supervisor, acting proactively and maintaining a high standard of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, guaranteeing reliability of fiscal, allocation, custody transfer and operational measurements, in compliance with schedules, MODEC procedures, maintenance philosophy, national and international regulations and standards, ensuring that all metering systems are operational and preserved for the assigned unit.
  • Carry out or supervise 3rd party employees in all operation, maintenance, calibration and inspection related to the Metering Systems discipline, including inspection and calibration of block and control valves of the metering skids, automatic samplers, flow computers, metering systems PLC's, online chromatograph, attending regulatory deadlines and related metrological requirements in order to ensure the reliability of operational measurements for all plant and machinery in the unit, as well as emergency equipment, thus contributing to the production and revenue target achievement.
  • Contribute to an effective response to emergencies on board by being part of the Emergency Response Team, participating in all trainings, simulations and acting properly in a real situation, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, guidelines, as well as national and international regulations and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with MODEC Permit to Work system, isolation standard being aware about latest revision of PTW and act as Permit user of PTW for the task, or originating the PTWs, if delegated by the I&C supervisor.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of MdB fleet performance by participating, when requested, RCAs, investigations of NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, following up CAPAs, sharing lessons learned.
  • Contribute to enhance MODEC's Preventive Maintenance procedures, by constantly evaluating maintenance activities and seeking improvement opportunities, providing technical input following MODEC's Maintenance Philosophy, manufacturer recommendation, and personnel experience.
  • Act proactively to safeguarding MODEC from noncompliance to legal/regulatory requirements by following MODEC's procedures, internal and external regulations, national and international standards, including NBR / ISO 10012, supporting audits and inspections in the unit, as defined in the EMS, and implementing action plans, when required.
  • Contribute so that designated onshore department may properly act as Functional Managers of Metering Systems discipline for that unit, by ensuring the adherence of the scope to Technical standards, guidelines and recommendations set by Technical Support department.
  • Calibrate primary flow meters (against compact prover and Master Meter), ANP secondary metering instruments (P&T) and tertiary (BSW, density, chromatograph etc), issue detailed technical reports and notifications of measurement failures, as required in the SGM, following the internal guidelines and procedures of the MODEC Calibration Laboratory (LabM).
  • Ensure accuracy of Metering Systems' information by monitoring and validating the daily closing of fiscal, allocation, custody transfer and operational of oil and gas production, as well as the volume of water produced, validating XML files which report production data, storing them daily in a ANP server.
  • Assist other offshore departments in metering related activities, including but not limited to well testing, collection of samples for chemical analysis (gas chromatography and oil PVT), NR13 instruments calibration, measurement reports for offloading procedure, according to guidelines defined in the SGM.
  • Closely communicate with onshore Metering Systems Maintenance department, providing any information required regarding the unit's offshore reality, assisting in the assembly and disassembly of meters for onshore calibration, sharing inspection reports, supporting on offshore surveys.
  • Control orifice plates and calibration equipment under ANP regulation, replacing them and assist in dimensional inspections when required. Perform leak test on calibration standards e guarantee a sealing of metering systems, in accordance with established RTM guidelines.
  • Provide technical support in metering systems troubleshooting and problem solving, when required, in different units of the fleet, including Flow computer, HMI configuration, Compact Prover, Inspection and Repair of Orifice Fittings or general metering equipment support.
  • Support Tier 1 Metering Techs in shutdown projects, by embarking in different units of the fleet, when required, to assist on major corrective maintenance and specific metering routines during shutdown, isolate flow meters, update flow computers, prepare documentation for NFSM, and any other support required.
  • Contribute to the proper technical evaluation of possible service providers aiming at their pre-qualification, following the definitions of the detailed technical scope of the work when assessing the vendor's fabrication site, process and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree of discipline-specific Engineering is a competitive edge.
  • CFT (or CREA for engineers) active and valid is required.
  • Technician I/II/III: Minimum 2/4/7 years' overall experience is expected;
  • Previous experience with standard and regulatory metering is expected.
  • Previous experience in Offshore Oil & Gas area is a competitive edge.
