Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer / Principal Mechanical Engineer
Role Overview
This role is open across Mechanical Engineer to Principal Mechanical Engineer levels, depending on the candidate’s experience, technical depth, leadership capability, and project exposure.
The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical engineering systems for building services and infrastructure projects, with increasing responsibility in technical leadership, client engagement, and team management at senior and principal levels.
Key Responsibilities
A. Mechanical Engineer
- Support the planning and design of mechanical engineering systems for building services and infrastructure projects
- Prepare and assist in developing calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams during design development
- Support site activities including installation, testing, and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and authority requirements
B. Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Lead the planning and design of mechanical engineering works for assigned projects
- Review and check engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications prepared by team members
- Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines during feasibility and detailed design stages
- Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases
- Engage directly with clients and authorities to ensure smooth project delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and support project planning and coordination
C. Principal Mechanical Engineer
- Provide technical leadership and professional oversight across multiple projects
- Act as the lead mechanical engineering authority, ensuring design excellence and compliance
- Review and approve key design deliverables at all project stages
- Lead client engagements, offering strategic advice and engineering solutions
- Oversee complex coordination issues and resolve high-level technical challenges
- Guide and develop engineering teams, supporting capability building and succession planning
- Contribute to project management, resource planning, and contract administration where required
Common Responsibilities Across All Levels
- Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable local codes, regulations, and authority submission requirements
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure design intent and quality standards are met
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes
- Maintain strong focus on safety, constructability, and operational efficiency
Requirements (Aligned by Level)
Education
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), Singapore
Experience
- Mechanical Engineer: 2–4 years of relevant experience
- Senior Mechanical Engineer: 6+ years of relevant experience in building services and/or infrastructure projects
- Principal Mechanical Engineer: 8–10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership and client‑facing responsibilities
Additional Requirements
- Experience in a consulting environment with exposure to major development or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of Singapore codes, regulations, and authority submission processes
- Good planning, coordination, and communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit is advantageous
