A leading engineering company in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Inspector with 5-10 years of experience in mechanical inspection, specifically in power plant construction. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of compliance with ASME, API, and ISO standards, along with relevant certifications in welding inspection and NDT. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, monitoring installations, and ensuring safety compliance during project activities. Conduct inspections and surveillance of mechanical works per approved ITPs, drawings, and specifications.
Monitor installation of mechanical systems including ducting, piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and turbines.
Verify compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements (ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
Witness pressure tests, alignment checks, and equipment installations.
Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and QA/QC to resolve non-conformities.
Maintain accurate inspection and test documentation, including NCRs.
Ensure safety compliance during inspections and participate in punch listing and pre-commissioning activities.
Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5–10 years of mechanical inspection experience, with minimum 2 years in power plant construction.
Experience on EPC or owner side is preferred.
Knowledge of welding inspection, NDT, pressure testing, and coating.
Familiarity with ASME, API, ISO standards; CSWIP, AWS-CWI, NDT certifications required; API 510/570 a plus.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and strong reporting skills.
