The Materials Engineer is responsible for managing material readiness, supply‑chain execution, and manufacturing process development across the product life cycle. This role ensures material availability, manufacturability, and process scalability while partnering with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to meet production, quality, cost, and yield objectives.
Manage clear‑to‑build readiness and material availability
Develop allocation strategies for constrained materials
Own excess, obsolescence, and material risk mitigation
Support logistics, inventory control, and material flow
Establish and maintain manufacturing processes across product life cycles
Drive DFM improvements with design and engineering teams
Lead fixture design and process optimization for mass production
Support SMT process setup, validation, and yield improvement
Communicate materials status and risks to executive leadership
