Job summary

A maritime recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a Marine Superintendent to ensure compliance with maritime regulations and oversee fleet operations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring vessels comply with all relevant maritime regulations and certifications.
  • Coordinate and monitor vetting inspections, class audits, SIRE, Flag State Inspections, and other statutory surveys.
  • Conduct safety inspections and manage incident investigations.

Roles & Responsibilities

Marine Superintendent

  • Location: Penjuru
  • Salary: $4,500 - $5,500
  • Working days: Monday – Friday
  • Working hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime studies, Marine engineering, Naval architecture or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in fleet operations, preferably in a supervisory / managerial role
  • Certificate of competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) recognised by MPA Singapore
  • Familiarity with ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS and other maritime regulations
  • ISM / ISPS or ISO Lead Auditor certification is an advantage
  • Experience working with tankers preferred
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring vessels comply with all relevant maritime regulations and certifications
  • Coordinate and monitor vetting inspections, class audits, SIRE, Flag State Inspections and other statutory surveys
  • Approved crew assignments, conduct interviews and oversee onboarding
  • Identify training needs and ensure structured development programmes are in place
  • Support onboard mentoring and competency management initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW and other international standards
  • Conduct safety inspections, manage incident investigations and follow up on safety audits
  • Monitor navigational safety, pollution prevention and cargo operations
  • Support voyage planning and execution to maximise efficiency and cargo utilisation
  • Monitor resource allocation and utilisation for optimal operational support
