Job Description

J.P. Morgan is focused on expanding its presence and capabilities across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region aiming to become a leading financial services franchise. The firm operates in 16 APAC markets serving a diverse client base including corporates banks and institutional investors. The business is navigating a complex regulatory environment with significant investments in data governance AI adoption and talent development to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

The Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) APAC will lead the regions analytics and AI strategy governance and enablement driving responsible adoption and commercially viable deployment of advanced analytics and AI solutions across J.P. Morgans APAC franchise. This executive will be pivotal in scaling AI/ML capabilities enabling business transformation and ensuring robust governance and compliance in a complex multi-market environment.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the APAC analytics strategy aligned with global CDAO vision and regional business priorities.
• Lead ideation value discovery and use-case prioritization for analytics and AI initiatives across APAC markets and lines of business.
• Drive the adoption and scaling of AI/ML solutions and oversee forums for innovation champion culture and communities and ensuring cross-functional & cross-LOB alignment with firmwide standards platforms products tools and regulatory requirements.

Governance & Compliance

• Oversee AI governance controls and guardrails ensuring compliance with evolving APAC data and AI regulations.
• Ensures robust data management quality and security across all AI/ML initiatives and enable alignment of good & responsible data practices with business priorities and regulatory requirements enabling scalable trusted AI solutions.
• Coordinate regulatory surveys and represent APAC analytics in firmwide and external regulatory forums.

Enablement & Transformation

• Build and lead a high-performing analytics team fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous learning. Champion talent development upskilling and academic collaborations to strengthen the regions analytics capabilities.
• Lead the development refinement customization and deployment of modular AI/ML assets (annotation RAG vector DB testing) for APAC AI specific use cases.
• Partner with business technology and product teams to deliver analytics solutions that drive revenue growth operational efficiency and risk reduction.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage senior stakeholders across APAC and globally to secure sponsorship and drive commercial value from analytics initiatives.
• Act as a thought leader and advocate for data-driven decision-making both internally and externally. Represent J.P. Morgan in industry forums regulatory engagements and client advisory sessions on analytics and AI topics.

Qualifications & experience

• Proven track record in analytics data science or AI leadership roles within financial services or related industries.
• Deep understanding of APAC market dynamics regulatory environments and data privacy requirements.
• Experience in building and scaling analytics teams driving transformation and delivering high-impact business outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML technologies data management and analytics platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence at the executive level.
• Experience driving change in complex organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Clear communicator who can assert vision and drive followership.
• Advanced degree in Data Science Analytics Computer Science or related field would be an advantage.
