Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator in Singapore is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of goods within local and international supply chains. The role involves liaising with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with Singapore’s trade and import/export regulations. The coordinator manages shipment documentation, monitors inventory levels, and supports daily logistics operations to maintain efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end imports, export, and cross-trade shipments (air, sea, road) including booking, tracking, and coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, agents.
- Prepare and verify shipment documentation (bill of landing, customs documents, certificates of origin, export/import permits) to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Liaise with suppliers, shipping agents, and customers in China, Singapore, Middle East and Asian regions, handling enquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely updates.
- Coordinate internal teams (projects, procurement, sales & finance) to align shipment schedules and order fulfilment.
- Monitor shipment status; anticipate delays or issues; expand and manage corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, costs, and logistics performance metrics.
- Assist in cost optimization (freight costs, routing, consolidation) and process improvements.
- Perform ad hoc duties or logistics-related projects as assigned by the reporting Manager.
Education & Experience
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Project Management, Engineering, International Trade, or related field.
- Experience: Generally, 3-5 years of project logistics or freight forwarding experience, with exposure to managing shipments for projects / capital equipment / heavy or oversized cargo preferred.
- Language: Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (spoken & written) and strong proficiency in English. Ability to communicate technical, regulatory, and schedule details clearly in both languages.
- Technical / System Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with logistics / transport management systems (TMS), ERP systems is a plus.
