About the job LNG Market Analyst - 1 year contract

Job Description:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of key developments in the global natural gas and LNG industry with special focus in Asia Pacific through independent research and effective networking with internal and external contacts.
• Collaborate with the broader LNG commercial team in the production of periodic gas and LNG market research report and communicate findings to a broader internal audience.
• Maintain and run global portfolio trading and optimisation models
• Analyse trade data and performance metrics to evaluate trading strategies and optimise portfolio performance
• Support the development and enhancement of trading models, tools, and systems to improve trading efficiency and decision‑making
• Monitor and manage positions in the LNG market, tracking trade performance, market exposure, and risk metrics to ensure alignment with trading strategies and objectives
• Assist in the execution of physical and financial LNG trades, including pre‑trade (NDA & KYC), trade documentation and contract support
• Collaborate with internal teams, including risk management, operations, legal and finance, to ensure seamless trade execution and settlement
• Prepare reports, presentations, and market updates for internal stakeholders, including senior management and trading teams
• Utilise programming skills to automate data analysis tasks, develop trading models, and enhance trading systems and tools, create interactive dashboards and visualisations for monitoring trade performance and market trends

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., engineering, economics, finance, or business)
• Familiarity with the energy industry, understanding its value chain and economic drivers; experience of working in energy trading, preferably in LNG or natural gas markets
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Team player with a collaborative and inclusive mindset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail‑oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Skill and Experience

• Experience of working in other energy commodities
• Experience in the valuation of LNG related commercial agreements; able to build and operate financial / trading models
• Familiarity with trading platforms, market analysis tools, and risk management systems is a plus
• Experience with Power BI to create interactive dashboards and visualisations for monitoring trade performance and market trends is a plus
• Knowledge of quantitative methods and financial theories
