Job summary

A research and development company in Singapore is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager with a minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory management for chemistry or biochemistry R&D. The candidate should have prior experience in greenfield or brownfield facility setup and demonstrate a passion for operational excellence. This role encompasses managing licensing processes, designing safety management procedures, and implementing Lean tools like Kaizen and 5S.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience managing laboratory operations for chemistry or biochemistry R&D.
• Prior experience in setting up a greenfield or brownfield facility.
• Track record and/or demonstrated passion in operational excellence.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit materials for safety licensing and other permits
• Design, establish and digitise procedures for inventory and safety management, including selection and implementation of Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) and Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN)
• Plan, implement and optimise layout and infrastructure for placement and storage of R&D inventory, utilising Lean tools (e.g. Kaizen, 5S, Kanban) where desirable and feasible.
• Coordinator selection, purchase, delivery and commissioning of scientific equipment and consumables.
• Test-run and troubleshoot workflows.
• Propose/curate ideas for improvements including but not limited to automation, in compliances with A*Star framework.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience managing laboratory operations for chemistry or biochemistry R&D.
• Prior experience in setting up a greenfield or brownfield facility
• Track record and/or demonstrated passion in operational excellence.
