As a Junior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role within the Data Science team, reporting to the Digital Manufacturing Maintenance pillar lead. You will assist in delivering technical analytics requirements and support best practices in use case development, deployment, scaling, and maintenance of data science projects.

In this role, you will contribute to developing and deploying machine learning and statistical models to address complex operational challenges, and support building scalable data products that drive business value. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across GlobalFoundries to ensure impactful analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Lead Data Scientists and stakeholders to translate their needs into predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with GFIT, Manufacturing Data Domain group to support Lead Data Scientist in building the required data pipelines for productionalized and scalable predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and create compelling visualization using complex and high-dimensional datasets.
  • Help Lead Data Scientist to identify suitable machine learning or statistical approaches for the type of problem and train models for optimal performance, including hyperparameter tuning.
  • Contribute to deploy models into production with assistance from Product Engineers.
  • Validate and monitor models to ensure consistent performance and avoid performance degradation.
  • Support Lead Data Scientist during technical and analytics capability building within the analytics teams to stay current on best practices and new model techniques.
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Data Science & AI, Electrical Electronic Engineering with Machine Learning/AI specialization, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related Engineering degree.
  • 0–2 years of experience in data analytics or data science (internship or project experience acceptable).
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques such as forecasting, segmentation, or recommendation systems.
  • Proficiency in Python; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to optimization techniques or statistical modeling.
  • Experience working in Agile teams or product development environments.
