Job description

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for managing, governing, and overseeing the delivery and reliability of the organization’s core technology infrastructure. This includes network, cloud, data center, servers, storage, backup, and core infrastructure platforms, primarily delivered through a heavily outsourced model.

This role focuses on infrastructure service delivery, vendor governance, operational stability, and modernization execution. End User Computing (EUC) and Security operations remain outside the scope and are owned by separate functions; however, close collaboration is required to ensure infrastructure services effectively support those domains.

Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture
  • Manage and maintain infrastructure architecture across network, cloud/hybrid platforms, servers, storage, virtualization, and data center services.
  • Execute and support modernization initiatives such as cloud migration, network refresh (e.g., SD-WAN), platform standardization, and automation.
  • Ensure infrastructure designs and changes align with enterprise architecture standards and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Security and EUC teams to ensure infrastructure capabilities support their needs, without assuming ownership of those domains.
Vendor & MSP Governance
  • Act as the primary day-to-day governance lead for MSPs delivering network, cloud, hosting, server, and data center services.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular service reviews (monthly/quarterly) with vendors and track remediation plans.
  • Drive continuous service improvement, operational efficiency, and cost optimization across vendors.
  • Support contract renewals, scope management, service escalations, and vendor performance issues.
Service Operations Oversight (Excluding EUC & Security)
  • Oversee the operational performance and availability of infrastructure services, including Network (WAN/LAN/WLAN, firewalls, load balancers); Cloud infrastructure (Azure); Servers, storage, backup, and disaster recovery; Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V); and Core infrastructure platforms (e.g., Active Directory, middleware, hosting platforms).
  • Govern ITIL processes related to infrastructure services, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
  • Ensure effective major incident coordination for infrastructure-related issues, including vendor communication and post-incident reviews.
  • Review infrastructure monitoring, reporting, and operational dashboards to ensure service health and transparency.
Risk, Resilience & Compliance (Infrastructure scope)
  • Ensure infrastructure services comply with enterprise architecture standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Work with the Security team to ensure infrastructure components meet security policy requirements, without owning security operations.
  • Ensure vendors maintain appropriate backup, disaster recovery, and resilience capabilities.
  • Coordinate and oversee infrastructure DR testing, including documentation and follow-up actions.
Financial & Commercial Management
  • Manage infrastructure-related OPEX and CAPEX budgets, excluding EUC and Security.
  • Track and optimize cloud, hosting, and infrastructure service costs.
  • Support sourcing and procurement activities, including RFPs, vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations, in collaboration with procurement and leadership teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 15+years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, cloud platforms, and enterprise-scale service delivery (preferably in outsourced environments).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity,backup/DR, monitoring, and resource governance.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture frameworks, landing zones, Azure governance, subscription management, and cloud networking.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments, legacy server technologies, and connectivity between on-premise and cloud.
  • Experience managing outsourcing partners / MSPs, including SLA governance, performance reviews, and contract accountability.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, capacity, availability)and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cloud-first transformation, modernization initiatives, and migration from on-premises to Azure.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational stability, performance, and resilience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating technical concepts for business and leadership audiences.
  • Experience with cost management and cloud optimization (FinOps) to drive efficiency and budget control.
  • Business-oriented, pragmatic mindset, balancing innovation, risk, cost, and operational outcomes.
  • Continuous improvement approach, promoting automation, standardization, and simplification across infrastructure services.
