As the IT Governance Lead, you will play a key part to strengthen the IT risk, compliance, and audit posture of the orgamization. This role partners closely with Technology and Senior Management to meet regulatory expectations, maintain strong IT controls, and continually uplift processes and frameworks. You’ll also lead a small team and act as the primary point of contact for all IT audit and regulatory matters.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes.
- Monitor IT process compliance and perform control testing to ensure adherence.
- Translate regulatory updates (e.g., MAS TRM, Notices) into actionable IT governance requirements.
- Drive IT risk awareness, process discipline, and governance maturity across Technology teams.
- Review and streamline IT processes, workflows, and documentation to improve control effectiveness.
- Work with relevant teams to address governance gaps and uplift IT control posture.
- Communicate new IT policies/standards to stakeholders and ensure smooth implementation.
- Lead the full lifecycle of IT audits and regulatory inspections (internal, external, MAS).
- Front and liaise directly on IT governance-related queries and inspections.
- Coordinate audit activities: kick-off, RFI, fieldwork, reporting, and closure.
- Review audit findings, identify root causes, and ensure accurate, high-quality responses.
- Track remediation plans and verify closure of IT audit issues.
- Support business audits with any IT-related elements.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Min 10 years of IT governance, IT audit, or IT risk and compliance experience, within a regulated financial institution.
- Strong understanding of industry practices and regulatory requirements (Eg; MAS TRM, MAS Notices, IT governance frameworks, and technology control standards)
- Proven leadership experience to manage team of professionals
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and strong in policy, process, and governance disciplines.
