We are seeking a talented individual to join our Captives team at Marsh Singapore. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
- Responsible for a portfolio of clients and managing the day to day activities of those captive insurance companies.
- Prepare financial statements in an accurate and timely manner, including supplemental financial information required by the client.
- Ability to manage complex clients in full cycle life accounting.
- Familiar with international clients’ unique rules and regulations.
- Reconciles cash and investment accounts. Prepares bank deposits and cash disbursements.
- Assists clients in the full day to day activities and requests independently and pro-actively.
- Plans and completes the annual audit for clients, which can include preparation of regulatory filings and GAAP financial statements.
- Knowledgeable or highly knowledgeable in GAAP and can speak to and guide clients in evaluating and implementing new principles.
- Ensures legal and regulatory compliance processes and procedures are followed for local accounting and financial reporting. Proactively has conversations with clients on any trending regulatory issues or changes.
- Maintains client files in accordance with regulations and best practices.
- Has clear communication and relationship building skills and can troubleshoot most client relationship scenarios.
- Monitors and documents team and client activities to prevent and detect problems.
- Corresponds with other service providers. Including reviewing, analyzing and discussing any reports provided by the service providers (eg. actuaries, auditors, claims handlers, etc)
- Coach, mentor and assist junior or new colleagues in their roles. Reviews junior colleague work before being sent to clients or other stakeholders.
- Participates in ongoing global projects such as developing best practices or new policy.
- Organizes, plans and leads board and committee meeting materials and be active participant in the annual board of directors’ meeting and other client meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Complies with Marsh internal controls and any client specific internal controls.
- Helps establish and implement standardized financial activities and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Solid understanding of insurance, insurance policies and insurance accounting.
What you need to have:
- Degree/Diploma with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in underwriting or claims preferred.
- Attained minimum Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) or equivalent. ANZIIF or ACII will be an advantage.
