Job summary

A leading marine engineering company in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to oversee the Hull & Outfitting Section. You will ensure adherence to schedules, conduct structural analysis, and design tertiary steel structures. Ideal candidates should have a Diploma in naval architecture or related engineering discipline, along with at least 3 years of experience in the marine/offshore industry. Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in marine/offshore industry.
• Prior experience in newbuild and conversion of Offshore Supply Vessels.
• Familiarity with Marine & Offshore rules, regulations and requirements.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the Hull & Outfitting Section to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, work plans and performance requirements.
• Carry out structural analysis of hull and structures.
• Responsible for the design of all tertiary steel structures including accessway, platforms, structure for material and equipment handling, vessel mooring system etc.
• Prepare bill of material, review and selection of materials.
• Coordinate / executive contract specification requirements and production inputs into engineering drawing / document.
• Provide progress reporting and schedule management of engineering deliverables.
• Perform site visits to solve engineering problems when required to determine existing conditions or verify new construction.
• Coordinate with other production team members, subcontractors and consultants to resolve technical issues onsite which affect the hull and outfitting schedule and project deliverables.
• Liaises with QA/QC, owners, statutory and classification authorities for completed outfitting installation inspection and acceptance (i.e. Piping systems, HVAC, electrical cabling, fitting equipment and equipment foundation) to sign off completion.
• Meet with vendors, client reps, accreditation representatives when required.
• Review and reply to class comments.
• Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance to relevant government regulations and company’s quality, safety, health and environmental (QSHE) policies, practices and procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working in a marine/offshore industry and a Diploma in naval architecture, structural or marine or related engineering discipline or minimum 6 years working in a marine/offshore industry
• Prior experience in newbuild and conversion of Offshore Supply Vessel.
• Familiarity with Marine & Offshore rules, regulations and requirements
• Knowledge of Intergraph Software will be an added advantage
• Good communication skills, meticulous, resourceful, able to multi-task
• A team player with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
