Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HSE Officer/ECO to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety, environmental compliance, and the proper implementation of safety standards across our project sites.
Carry out the duties of a WSHO and ECO as required by legislation and regulations.
Ensure compliance with statutory acts, regulations, company safety rules, and codes of practice by all staff.
Provide coaching and guidance to workers on workplace safety practices.
Implement and oversee project-specific HSE management systems and programs in alignment with corporate procedures.
Support company and project initiatives to achieve HSE-related awards and certifications.
Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and compliance checks.
Identify gaps in WSH/Environmental systems, procedures, and performance, and recommend improvements.
Develop and implement the Safety Program.
Review and evaluate WSHMS and Environmental reports.
Conduct safety meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
Work closely with the project team to maintain high safety, health, and environmental standards.
Liaise with authorities on occupational safety, health, and environmental matters.
Advise the Project Director/Manager on WSH issues and improvements.
Maintain accurate WSH and environmental records and ensure timely submission.
Review internal and external risk assessments and risk management processes.
Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions, ensuring proper follow‑up.
Ensure all Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) supporting documents are valid and available.
Prepare and submit the Site Environmental Control Program before work commences.
Organise tabletop exercises, emergency response drills, and ensure emergency equipment readiness.
Prepare and present data analytics reports on WSH performance and practices.
Perform any other HSE‑related duties as assigned by management.
Diploma/Degree in Workplace Safety and Health or related field.
Registered MOM WSHO and NEA ECO with minimum 3 years of relevant construction industry experience.
Strong knowledge of WSH and environmental regulatory requirements.
Experience in SP, PUB, LTA, or CAG projects will be an advantage.
Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Own transport is preferred.
