Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the research and analysis of project requirements to build a deep understanding of each client’s needs.
  • Generate compelling design concepts, thematic directions, and curated visual references.
  • Champion design excellence by staying current with industry trends, key designers, and innovative products.
  • Continuously evolve the studio’s design knowledge and creative offerings.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, persuasive design presentations that reflect the unique brand of Avalon Collective.
  • Confidently present concepts to clients and project consultants, articulating the design strategy and vision.
  • Manage the entire presentation lifecycle: schedule planning, material preparation, and coordination of studio resources.
  • Accurately document client feedback and decisions, and lead the follow-up process to ensure all requirements are actioned.
Design Integrity & Project Execution
  • Provide clear, consistent design direction to the team throughout the design process.
  • Oversee the development of approved designs, including FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment), ensuring the original concept is faithfully translated into working drawings and detailed documentation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential design and construction issues before they arise.
  • Conduct regular check-in meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and maintain project timelines.
  • Value-engineer designs and details without compromising aesthetic or functional objectives.
Quality Assurance & Client Relations
  • Rigorously review all specifications, prototypes, and mock-ups to ensure they meet design objectives and are fit-for-purpose.
  • Provide practical and innovative design solutions to unforeseen site conditions.
  • Maintain prompt, professional, and clear communication with clients and consultants.
  • Foster and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve design quality, studio processes, and operational efficiency.
