Legal Responsibilities

In the function as head of Legal of the region he / she is responsible for :

Handling contractual legal matters arising in the region comprising almost all areas of law with a focus on contracts of sale (whether related to sales or purchasing), including, where required, participating in or leading negotiations.

Providing legal advice to internal customers within the region comprising contract law, commercial law, company law, customs law, antitrust legislation, IP law etc.

Supporting (investment) projects with respect to all legal questions arising.

Providing advice regarding customer claims.

Defending the interest of the firm in court (where possible and reasonable) and representing the company before authorities.

Managing external counsels, where necessary.

Compliance Responsibilities

In the function as compliance officer of the region he / she is responsible for :

Implementing the Group’s Compliance Management System (CMS) and ensuring its effectiveness in the region.

Leading a network of compliance contacts in the countries.

Providing training or organising trainings with focus on the areas of anti-corruption, antitrust, money laundering / export regulations and environmental protection.

Supporting the group wide yearly process of risk assessments, managing specific compliance risk assessments, where need arises.

Following up on legislation in relevant areas of law.

Supporting Compliance Audits.

Promoting the CMS in the region / yearly reporting.

Providing advice with regard to compliance requests.

Supporting Compliance investigations.
