Job description
Role Overview

As the Head of Cloud Infrastructure, you will own the global roadmap and lifecycle of our cloud and hosting ecosystem. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end journey: from the initial design and set‑up of scalable environments to the complex migration and continuous optimisation of our global footprint.

A critical component of this role is bridging the gap between traditional Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT). You will ensure our cloud strategy supports the high‑availability and low‑latency demands of a modern global manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities
1. Global Strategy & Roadmap
  • Visionary Leadership: Define and execute a multi‑year global cloud strategy (Public, Private, and Hybrid) that aligns with corporate growth and digital transformation goals.
  • Migration Stewardship: Lead the end‑to‑end migration of legacy on‑premises workloads to the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing production lines.
  • Hosting Governance: Standardise hosting activities across global sites to ensure consistency, compliance, and security.
2. Design & Deployment
  • Architectural Excellence: Oversee the design of robust, secure, and scalable cloud landing zones tailored for industrial use cases (e.g., IoT integration, ERP hosting).
  • Manufacturing Integration: Design "Edge‑to‑Cloud" architectures that support factory‑floor applications, ensuring data synchronisation between local manufacturing execution systems (MES) and global cloud repositories.
3. Continuous Optimisation
  • FinOps & Cost Management: Implement rigorous cloud cost management practices to optimise consumption and drive down the total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Operational Resilience: Establish global standards for high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and site reliability engineering (SRE) to maintain 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Security & Compliance: Partner with the CISO to bake security into the infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code) and maintain compliance with global data sovereignty laws.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: 12+ years in infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global cloud migrations.
  • Cloud Mastery: Expert‑level knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP (Multi‑cloud experience preferred).
  • Manufacturing Context: Proven experience managing infrastructure in a manufacturing or industrial environment; familiar with the constraints of factory‑floor uptime and OT integration.
  • Technical Depth: Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible), Kubernetes, and hybrid networking (SD‑WAN, MPLS).
  • Change Management: Demonstrated ability to lead large‑scale organisational change during mass migrations.
