Job description
1.Co‑Architect with the CEO to Drive Vision 2030
  • Design and embed a growth‑oriented, performance‑driven Finance function that partners with Armstrong leaders and stakeholders to translate our Corporate Vision, Goals and desired culture into clear strategies, organizational structures, workplans and measurable outcomes
  • Mobilize and empower leaders and managers to champion change and deliver results, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture.
2.Chief Steward of Financial Literacy, Health & Performance
  • Establish and institutionalize robust financial controllership and leadership practices—through strategic policies, directives and processes—that elevate financial literacy and enhance decision‑making quality across leadership ranks, ensuring optimal resource allocation for mid‑to long‑term sustainability
  • Architect and develop the Finance function’s structure and leadership pipeline at both corporate and OBU levels.
3.Innovator Preparing the Organization for the Future
  • Advance Finance systems and processes by integrating digitalization, automation and emerging technologies to drive efficiency and insight
  • Inspire and enable leaders and employees to embrace necessary transformations, ensuring the organization remains relevant and competitive
  • Build a high‑performing, forward‑thinking finance team. Coach, mentor and upskill Finance team while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, with a mindset of learning, and innovation to raising the bar of the function for future proofing.
Key Duties and Job Responsibilities
1.Develop and Implement Financial Strategy

Translate corporate vision, mission and business objectives into a coherent financial strategy. Ensure all financial plans, policies and initiatives directly support and reinforce the company’s strategic direction.

2.Lead Budgeting, Forecasting & Long‑Range Planning

Oversee annual operating and rolling three‑year budgets, driving accuracy, accountability and alignment with growth targets. Build and maintain sustainable financial models; conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to anticipate future performance.

3.Optimize Capital & Resource Allocation

Allocate capital expenditures, working‑capital and human resources to maximize ROI and support strategic imperatives. Partner with business leaders to prioritize investments that deliver the highest long‑term value.

4.Manage Cash Flow & Liquidity

Monitor daily cash positions and projections to safeguard the company’s short‑term funding requirements. Design cash‑management frameworks and financing strategies that underpin strategic initiatives.

5.Identify, Assess & Mitigate Financial Risks

Perform regular risk assessments—market, credit, operational—and implement controls and hedging strategies. Establish and monitor compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards.

6.Drive KPI‑Based Performance Measurement

Define, track and analyse key financial metrics (e.g., margin, ROI, working‑capital ratios) against targets. Provide actionable insights and recommend course corrections to meet or exceed strategic goals.

7.Deliver Insightful Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and present timely management reports, board packs and variance analyses that clearly articulate performance and strategic outlook. Lead ad‑hoc analyses—including M&A support, business‑case development and value‑creation studies—to inform executive decision‑making.

8.Engage & Advise Internal & External Stakeholders

Act as the primary finance liaison to the CEO, leadership team and board, translating complex financial data into clear, strategic guidance. Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders—bankers, auditors and regulators—to support the company’s financial integrity and reputation.

  • Quarterly & Annual Group Meetings (Conducted in Chinese for China and English for Southeast Asia)
  • Strategic Business Reviews to periodically audit OBUs’ viability
  • Risk Management Reporting to identify and report on key financial risks (e.g., currency fluctuations, market shifts) and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Ad-Hoc Projects and Initiatives e.g. special task forces, transformation projects, or strategic interventions.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years as Head of regional and/or group level Finance function, particularly China and Southeast Asia
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in people management and development
  • Experience handling/supporting commercial or operations outside of finance function is an added advantage.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with ACCA qualification
  • Preferably with a master’s degree in accounting or other finance-related studies
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken)
