The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Group Accounts Executive (GAE) to join our Group Finance team on a 5 months' contract basis. Reporting to Corporate Group Assistant Controller, the core focus of the role is to support the Group Assistant Controller (GAC) in providing technical accounting expertise and guidance across the organization. Responsibilities include implementing new accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and process improvements; preparing technical documentation for global teams; developing group accounting policies; and assisting with the group treasury function. The GAE works closely with the GAC to strengthen risk, compliance, governance, and internal control frameworks, while maintaining process policies, procedures, and the internal accounting manual to ensure a robust global finance environment. The role also supports group consolidation and reporting processes, driving improvements in the Group’s consolidated financial reporting systems and practices.
Key accountabilities and performance indicators include:
1. Technical Accounting
- Support production of annual reports, accounts, and other financial reports.
- Assist in interpreting and implementing new regulatory and reporting standards, including amendments.
- Provide post‑implementation support and training.
- Ensure statutory and group reporting templates remain current.
- Work with GAC to implement changes in accounting policies effectively.
- Improve documentation of policies and procedures to enhance financial reporting quality.
- Draft technical accounting papers in collaboration with GAC.
2. Process Maintenance, Improvement & Systems
- Assist GAC in developing and maintaining group policies and procedures (process maps, SOPs, work instructions) and Finance Manual (accounting position and policy papers).
- Support creation and rollout of training materials across global teams.
- Maintain finance systems: ensure data integrity, policy compliance, embedded controls, timely updates, and consistent processes with proper training.
- Assist with implementation and rollout of new finance technologies and frameworks; maintain global chart of accounts.
- Support accounting processes for business development, including acquisition checklists, due diligence, modeling, completion accounts, PPA, and take‑on entries; liaise with third‑party advisors as needed.
3. Financial Reporting
- Assist in producing high‑quality financial accounts and reports for the Group and associated companies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for financial reporting.
- Support preparation of the Group’s multi‑currency consolidation process for monthly management and statutory purposes.
4. Treasury
- Support daily treasury activities, cash forecasting, and liquidity requirements in coordination with regional finance teams.
- Assist in managing external banking relationships and back‑office support for forex deals, including hedge accounting.
- Contribute to cash forecasting, weekly liquidity reporting, and external loan requirements (lenders’ reports, interest payments, and related accounting entries).
- Support contingency planning for acquisitions and integration of new treasury demands.
- Help develop systems, processes, and best practices; evaluate and implement strategic cash management projects.
5. Other
- Support team members and liaise with finance teams as needed.
- Assist in cost‑saving initiatives and ad‑hoc tasks related to the function.
