Most marketing roles just want you to post. This one will teach you how to run the engine.
Black Dog Consultants is a learning consultancy. We design leadership and learning experiences for clients who want real change - not to just tick boxes. Companies and bold teams who actually want to do things differently.
We publish a bi-weekly newsletter, keep an active presence on LinkedIn, and we’re growing a new website that’ll become our main content hub and lead gen platform. The marketing is sharp, strategic, and tone-led - but that takes time. We’re hiring aGraduate Associate (Marketing and Content Ops) to take the execution layer off our senior marketing lead’s plate, so she can focus on strategy and growth.
That’s where you come in.
Who you’ll work with
- Primary manager: Head of Marketing (Ireland, remote)
- Day-to-day stakeholder/mentor: Head of Partnerships (Singapore)
You’ll be in-office in Singapore so you can get quick support, context, and mentorship without the time zone wait. This is not a lone wolf role - we’ll set you up to succeed.
What you’ll do
You’ll be trained and supported to run a clean, repeatable weekly workflow. Think of this as learning how to operate the engine of a small but mighty marketing team.
Newsletter operations (bi-weekly)
- Turn team-provided content and bullet points + a source article into sharp, short newsletter items
- Support, maintain and assist planning ahead the yearly editorial calendar
- Build, format, QA, and schedule in Kajabi and LinkedIn (our current platform)
- Repurpose approved content into posts for LinkedIn (main), Instagram and Facebook (light touch)
- Utilise AI tools and Canva for creating images and video.
Social content planning and publishing
- Keep our simple content calendar up to date (includes things like IWD, Learning at Work Week, major cultural festivals etc)
- Create images, videos aligning with social best practices for various platforms
- Create a plan to boost engagement among our audience and potential customers
- Schedule using Later, track basic performance, and share a weekly snapshot
- Prompt AI tools to generate images (we’ll train you to get results that don’t look like stock photos from 2013)
Website and content freshness
- Upload newsletter items as blog posts in WordPress and publish when trained and approved.
- Help keep key pages current and tidy (especially as our new site version launches). Maintaining funnels, Leadpages and additional functionality.
Coordination and logistics
- Liaise with designers and printers using ready-to-go brief templates
- Organise marketing materials for events and client activity
- Support the ops team with ongoing projects as required.
Optional stretch opportunities (once the core engine runs smoothly)
- Repurpose short-form video for Reels/TikTok
- Event content capture: quick-turn photos and video content
- Exposure to learning tech tools (we integrate these into client programmes)
Tools you’ll use
Slack, Teams, Canva, Later Analytics, Chat GPT, Leonardo AI, WordPress, Kajabi, and Pipedrive. You’ll also use AI tools for writing support and image generation - don’t worry, we’ll teach you to prompt like a pro.
How we work (and how you’ll learn)
- We like useful over perfect.
- We test things fast. We learn even faster.
- You’ll get templates, workflows, and support - but also space to shape how we do things.
- This is not a role where you’ll be watched over. It’s one where you’ll be trusted.
You’ll love this role if…
- You’ve got ideas spilling out of your head and a knack for turning chaos into something clever.
- You’re a bit of a nerd about tools, templates, and tidy workflows
- You want to build your marketing/content portfolio for a brand with a global reach
- You enjoy writing short, clear copy and seeing it go live fast
- You like learning how things really work - and making them better
- You want to work with a smart, supportive team but still own your own lane
What good looks like
- You meet deadlines and don’t drop details (links, tags, formatting matter)
- You write clearly and get our tone - human, sharp, not generic
- You ask smart questions early, not late
- You’d enjoy being independent and running the marketing machine once fully trained
- You follow the process, improve it, and keep the machine running
What we’re looking for
- A diploma or degree graduate (polytechnic or university)
- Interest in marketing, social, content, or learning tech
- Evidence you can execute: a portfolio, personal projects, campus work, or internships
- Comfort with Canva and content tools (or fast learner)
- Strong written English and an ability to summarise without inventing
- A mature, thoughtful attitude to approvals and brand risk
Why this might not be for you
- You want step-by-step instructions every day (after onboarding)
- You’re looking for a big team and a graduate scheme
- You don’t like feedback (or giving it)
- You don’t enjoy being creative
- You’re not up for challenging how things have always been done
- You only want to write, or only want to design - we all do a bit of everything
Shortlisted candidates will need to complete a short practical task before being invited for interview: A newsletter draft, LinkedIn repurpose, and a mini posting plan.
