Overview

Senior Backend Engineer

• Working Hours: Mon-Fri (Hybrid)
• Location: Central
• Remuneration: Up to $11,000 + AWS

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our product development team. You will play a key role in designing and building high-performance backend systems, driving architectural decisions, and guiding junior engineers to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot, Kotlin, or C#.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with industry best practices.
• Architect cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services.
• Define and manage database schemas, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
• Ensure backend systems meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders on API specifications and integrations.
• Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship, and share knowledge with the team.
• Contribute to system design sessions and technical roadmaps.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems in production environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot, Kotlin, or C# (.NET Core).
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, including: AWS Lambda and serverless patterns, Amazon ECS or EKS, Amazon RDS and DynamoDB, Amazon S3, AWS CloudFormation or CDK
• CloudWatch monitoring and IAM security practices
• Proficiency in SQL with experience across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns (e.g., SOLID, DRY).
• Skilled with Git, CI/CD practices, and automated testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, NUnit).
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
