Job description

Role purpose

  • Full Accountability for the realization of the IT architecture of the domain.
  • Define, develop, and communicate the IT domain architecture aligned to the IT target architecture that will reduce IT complexity through cost-efficient solutions.
  • Manage the IT architecture realization to meet the business requirements aligned with the business and IT strategy of DHL Express.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies that will innovate the IT landscape and simplify the IT support function to respond to new market demands and improve efficiencies.
  • Ensure that IT solutions are cost-efficient and highly reliable and they meet customer (internal and external) expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of the organisation target IT architecture.
  • Identify redundancies in the organisation target architecture and propose to the Global Enterprise Architecture simplification strategies.

How will you contribute in this role?

  • Member of the organisation Enterprise Architecture Group responsible for the domain IT Architecture
  • Build working relationships with the Business IT domain head, Solution Architects, and IT representatives to gain a sufficient understanding of the needs to allow an implementable definition and optimization of a domain IT architecture.
  • Build working relationships with BIT Domain Head, Solution Architects, IT representatives, subject matter experts (business and IT) to scope, specify, and develop an appropriate IT Domain Architecture.
  • Document and maintain the domain target architecture aligned to the organisation target architecture and IT standards and principles.
  • Prepare and propose the current IT domain architecture migration to the organisation target architecture.
  • Oversee the realization of the domain IT architecture across programs and projects.
  • Guidance to peers, juniors, and partners in the context of the architecture.
  • Establish courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
  • Mentor and provide direction to junior architects and IT peers on the benefits of a well-defined domain target architecture and solution architectures for the projects and programs.
Do you have what it takes?

• At least 10 years of multi-disciplined IT experience including 5 years of IT architecture leadership in a large, sophisticated organization with a high volume/high transaction environment in the specified business domains.
• Experience in the design, specification, and configuration of solutions, systems, and interfaces, including data and performance analysis.
• Experience in delivering IT solutions across large multinational organizations.
• Global experience and teaming that has delivered world-class results.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and results-oriented.
• Committed to “best practices” and best-in-class design methodologies and production control procedures to position the organisation as a leader and innovator in the marketplace.
• In-depth technical background with solid accomplishments in delivering reduced complexity and cost by aligning business and IT architectures.
• Superior communication skills with technical and non-technical senior management.
• Ability to build strong relationships with all divisions of the company domestically and internationally and to ensure that technology effectively meets the needs of its users.
• Ability to team with, and manage, a strong partner/supplier system.
• Ability to focus on what is important for the organization whilst operating within a level of organizational ambiguity.
Educational Qualifications: Advanced University Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Preferred: Architecture certifications and/or industry qualification from an engineering /information systems professional body .
