Qualifications

  • Specialist/Consultant level surgeon trained in General Surgery.
  • Qualifications in Trauma Surgery and capacity for intense workload.
  • Experience in quality clinical services and inpatient care.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to clinical services and specialist consultations.
  • Perform procedures in General Surgery and Trauma Surgery.
  • Participate in on-call rosters for emergencies.
  • Provide teaching to junior medical staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned by senior staff.

What is the role?

The exact details of the position will be discussed in more detail directly with the hospital team over a video meeting.

  • Please note this position will also require someone to be fit and healthy, with stamina to manage a busy Trauma workload.
  • Some night on call dutieswill also be required

What are we looking for?

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to quality clinical services,supervising inpatient care and providing specialist consultations;
  • Performing General Surgery and Trauma surgeryprocedures independently
  • Participating in on-call rosters for emergencies and clinical service provision if required;
  • Providing teaching and supervision to junior medical staff;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Division and Head of Department.

The hospital can only considera specialist with one or more of the below qualifications:

  • Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM, FHKAM etc)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland (Please note CESR is not recognised in Singapore)
  • Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia or New Zealand
